55 - Heisman

Cam walks to the podium, eyes beady with anticipation after hearing his name resound throughout the sports world:  Heisman!

He raises the trophy, then lowers it.

Eyes, confident in position, scan the crowd. A grin grows, "I don't want your trophy, keep the cash I made you and thanks for getting me to the pros!"

I don't know, or honestly care about college football or all this Cam Newton mess, I just think it would be hilarious if an athlete in college only to go to the pros would admit that their "education" was how to be an athlete!

Plus, if he will help the Carolina Panthers win, it doesn't matter to me what he did in college!

Tell a story in 55 words and post the link here with G-man for Flash Friday 55!  Come and play.

  2. hmm...you know..when we went to pittsburg the other year...and i met dwayne woodruff...who went on to become a judge after football....after pursuing his law degree while playing...i gotta say, having the education matters....

  3. Don't know much about sports, but I taught at a University. It was sad to watch those athletes who put all their hopes on sports, then didn't make it in either sports or education. I do wish that they had a more balanced experience with academics having some emphasis towards their success.

  4. It's not like a an athlete's education is more important than anyone else's.

  5. That would be refreshing, wouldn't it. Almost as refreshing as Reggie Bush returning his Heisman.
